Originally bred for their ornamental value, these giants have become a staple in California gardens, reflecting the state's love for bold floral displays. Thus its name was born. They’re not just visually striking in the garden; these zinnias are also used in cut flower arrangements, bringing gardens inside with their long-lasting blooms. Their large size makes them focal points in landscapes, symbolizing the grandeur of California's horticultural heritage.

GROWERS TIP
Zinnias are native to South America, which means they will thrive in the heat and sunlight. Plant them on the edge of your garden to allow them to spread out when pinched back. The term “pinching back” simply means to snip the zinnia at a lower leaf node prior to it flowering. This will allow the plant to spend more energy in creating multiple branches, thus rewarding you with more blooms later on. As a side note, zinnias become more drought tolerant as they grow stronger.
