I planted both, Scarlett Flame and Violet Queen Zinnias in early July. That was late in our season, but I wanted to fill a space, and wouldn't have been upset if they didn't work out. WOW, I'm so excited they worked out so much better than I could have ever hoped. The package stated germination in 7-10 days. NOT TRUE!! Each and every seed planted emerged in 4 days and powered themselves to 40 inches tall in 4.5 weeks. The flowers are very abundant and colors are amazingly brilliant. Compliments abound from everyone who sees them, but the credit is not mine because our soil is difficult at best and I have fed them only 2x. So very pleased!!!
I purchased one packet each of Dwarf Teddy and Cherry Rose sunflowers. I direct sowed them after the last frost in my yard here in Athens, NY, and so many came up! The plants are healthy and the blooms are numerous and gorgeous!
Interestingly, these are two of the varieties that the many deer and bunnies who visit my yard did not eat!
Elfin Thyme pack (500 seeds) has had a poor germination rate (approximately 10 percent). Also, I am not convinced that the thyme species is as identified (Thymus praecox), as the leaves of seedlings that did germinate are quite a bit larger than those of plants that I purchased from a local nursery.
Very nice website, beautiful seed packages. The order process was simple and the seeds came very quickly. These would make great party favors, and are the perfect gift for gardeners. A great selection of annuals and perennials. One improvement I would love to see is a category that lists only North American native seeds. It would make it so much easier for people who want to get into native plantings.

I've had no issue's with seeds, they all sprouted! The package came fairly quickly. The artwork on the packages is just beautiful, with clear directions and information. I received my seeds very quickly. There was a slight mix-up on one of the packages, and I received a package of cabbage seeds instead of the cucumbers that I ordered, but I contacted Seed Needs and James responded immediately and sent the missing cucumber seeds. Fast shipping, great volume discounts, beautifully illustrated seed packets and good seed selection. I really like the multi-packs! I ordered the basil pack, and received the radish pack as a free gift with purchase. I wasn't even planning on planting any radishes this season, but ended up planting two of the varieties I received and they are already sprouting and looking good! I've started some of my other seeds, too, and just started four of the basil varieties today. Several of the sedum, milkweed, onions, and romaine have germinated, and I will be direct seeding the flowers. I will definitely be back in the future!
