Envy Zinnias are not your typical bright-colored flowers. They have a unique lime green hue, which makes them stand out in the garden. The Envy Zinnia was developed for its unusual color, adding a twist to traditional flower beds. Originating from selective breeding, this variety was introduced to bring a different aesthetic appeal to gardens and floral arrangements. Zinnias are native to South America, which means they will thrive in the heat and sunlight. Plant them on the edge of your garden to allow them to spread out when pinched back. The term “pinching back” simply means to snip the zinnia at a lower leaf node prior to it flowering. This will allow the plant to spend more energy in creating multiple branches, thus rewarding you with more blooms later on. As a side note, zinnias become more drought tolerant as they grow stronger.
