Grow a field that's filled with Pacific Giant Pumpkins, from freshly harvested Cucurbita maxima seeds. Pacific Giant is an amateur variety that is fairly easy to establish. The fruits grow to enormous sizes of over 350 pounds and display a pale orange skin, with deep orange innards. The vines can reach lengths of 25 feet long, and can grow to a height of about 2 feet tall. Pacific Giant Pumpkins are ready for harvest in about 125 days after first sprouts appear.

Pumpkins thrive in the heat of summer and are grown as annual fruits. Annual crops will produce flowers and fruits within a single season. If the seeds are collected from the inside of the pumpkins, they can be regrown the following year. Pacific Giant Pumpkins are primarily grown and entered in many contests to see who can grow the largest pumpkin.

When growing pumpkins, make sure to water the plants at the roots to prevent disease and mildew. Fertilize every 2 weeks with a 10-5-10 solution once sprouts receive their true leaves. Provide an ample amount of space and place straw under the fruits to prevent premature rotting by preventing the area from staying too wet.
